China learning journeys

Shenzhen Innovation Study Tours for MBA & Executives

A Shenzhen study tour asks how an idea becomes a product, and how that product reaches scale. The city offers a contrasting learning agenda to Shanghai: hardware, supplier relationships, engineering and commercialization can become the thread connecting the program.

Discuss your program

From prototype to operating business

An innovation immersion should connect technology with the business decisions around it. Participants can explore design tradeoffs, supplier coordination, product development cycles and the economics of manufacturing. The question is not simply what a demonstration can do, but what it takes to make the product reliable, affordable and commercially useful.

Robotics, electric mobility and supply chains

A robotics brief can examine integration, labor and workflow. An electric mobility brief can connect product design with software, components and industrial capacity. A supply-chain brief can ask how firms coordinate partners and respond to changes in demand. We choose the combination that fits your curriculum or strategic question.

Illustrative program structure

Begin with an ecosystem briefing and a clear comparison framework. Follow with company and expert discussions, relevant product or market observations, and daily synthesis. Close with a workshop on what can be transferred to the participants’ home market. A focused format or a longer China route can be assessed against the depth of the brief and available dates.

Shenzhen or Shanghai?

Choose Shenzhen when making, testing and scaling physical products is central. Choose Shanghai when international strategy, finance and consumer markets matter more. Combining them can create a useful comparison, but the learning value needs to justify the additional travel.

Access and delivery

Company names belong in an agreed, feasible agenda. We assess each proposed host and confirm availability before treating a visit as part of the program. Tell us your group size, participant roles, dates and learning objectives so we can discuss the right format with local partners.
